David Ellefson, bassist and co-founder of the American heavy metal band Megadeth, releases his autobiography tomorrow, October 29th. This coincides perfectly for any fans in the Tempe area this week as he will be doing a signing on Friday, November 1st from 6pm to 8pm at:
Changing Hands 6428 S. McClintock Dr. Tempe, AZ 85283
In addition to the autobiography and signing, Megadeth will also be performing this Wednesday, October 30th at 7:00 pm at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
The autobiography, “My Life With Deth” tells the tale of David Ellsfson and his journey from a farmers boy to a rock legend and all the hardships, failures and successes he encountered along the way. Ellefson doesn't want this to just be another rock star autobiography, but in fact a story that can help people.
“My autobiography is not the usual tale of rock 'n' roll woe, but rather something I hop will truly inspire people. I have dedicated my life to my craft, and I wanted to share the story of how a kid with a bass guitar and the dream of rock stardom literally risked it all to move from the farm in Minnesota to Los Angeles, and with a lot of hard work, sacrifice and a little luck along the way, made the dream come true. I think the readers will enjoy the stories, as well as the hardships, of this way of life as a musician and artist. I've been very open about my life's obstacles and the means by which I overcame them. Now, my hope is that this story will inspire others to follow their dreams and really live out the purpose for their lives, too.”
