Pick Of The Week: The Faceless – Autotheism

Autotheism is not a continuation from the album of Planetary Duality and you will be disappointed and hopefully wickedly surprised at this occurrence. Now this change in sound is no Mobid Angel change but it is not what you would be expecting after their last album. They have gone a more progressive Opeth route and that even includes actual singing. I know some of you just cringed but it is actually really well done. I did not know what to make of their new music at first, but after a few spins I find myself loving it. I did not think that their style would change that much with a few members replaced but you can still here some technical death metal in parts of the songs to still recognize the band. I will admit that if you are not a fan of progressive metal or never wanted them to change their style than you will hate this album and I suggest you save your money. Closed minded metal heads beware and open minded metals heads rejoice. I ended up jamming this album all weekend while my neighbors hated me in silence.
