The war in Iraq is over. The men and women of the US armed forces fought like tigers for nearly twice as long as their great grandfathers did in World War Two.  And while all the homecomings are great, the veterans of Iraq didnt get a ticker tape parade.

And sadly some of them have fallen on hard times and found themselves homeless.

Its time they got their parade and you can help.

We are throwing a Ticker Towel Parade. Drop off your new or gently used towels at KUPD and for every towel you drop off, you can enter a special drawing for tickets to WWE Raw at the US Airways center.  Drop off 2 towels: two chances to win. Drop off 20: twenty chances to win. 

All towels are going to the Arizona Standown. This is a once yearly event that helps homeless veterans here in Arizona.  Last year over 1200 veterans recived help from social services and the VA, place to stay, a hot meal, drug and alcohol counseling if needed, and, thanks to your donations, a fresh new towel in a hygiene kit.

Perhaps these young men wont ever get to walk down Fifth Avenue while paper flies out of the windows, but with your help they can certainly dry off and hold on to a very real expression of support from a very grateful nation.
