James Hetfield Says Orion Fest “It’s Been a Disaster Financially”.

Well when we found out here at the Big Red Radio that Metallica wasn’t bringing back The Orion Festival  this year we got bummed out big time. How could the metal giants not bring back a festival that has featured the likes of The Deftones, Dillinger Escape Plan, Battlecross and many others. Today we got the answer to why the band isn’t bringing the festival back this year. James Hetfield did an interview with a radio station in Houston and had this to say about Orion:

“Right now, it seems like metal is struggling a little bit in the States. Obviously, the Orion [Music + More] festival that we had tried to do the last couple of years has really not been… Gosh, it’s been a disaster financially, and it’s not able to happen again because of that. So it’s a bummer. So, you know, we’re doing what we can to keep being alive here. And I hope to get out and play in the States. It seems like forever since we’ve been out and about. You know, we’ve hit the coasts and we’ve done TV stuff and things like that. But it will happen again. So hopefully, to get your fix, you’re able to get the [Through the Never] DVD and sit there and headbang with your friends.”

So there you have it people, it all has to do with money. Well heres to hoping that Metallica can bring the festival back next year and get some more killer bands to join them.
