Lagwagon frontman to release new solo album

“Old punks”, as they’re called, have a tendency to throw down the electric guitar and busk out a few acoustic tunes now and then. Joey Cape, frontman of the punk band Lagwagon, is no exception. The Caper has been throwing down acoustic tracks in his solo project since 2004.

“Stitch Puppy” is the name of his newest solo album, a follow up to the 2011 release “Doesn’t Play Well With Others”. The new album is due out September 4th and can be pre-ordered through Fat Wreck Chords.

Cape directed the music video for “This Life Is Strange” where a doll handmade by his daughter comes to life. A mix of stop motion and live filming, the doll longboards, plays guitar, and moves about life in an emotionless and accepting manner.

Substream Magazine premiered an additional track from the upcoming album, “Moral Compass”, featuring guest vocals from Yotam Ben Horin (of the band Useless ID).

Lagwagon comes to Phoenix with Runaway Kids and Fat Wreck label-mates PEARS on November 10th at Pub Rock Live. Order tickets here.
