Australia + Marilyn Manson = ?

Manson started out utterly drunk and was stumbling over all the lyrics.  His tour manager (I believe it was anyway) was constantly getting on stage and talking to him every time he began to leave the stage.  Here is the majority of what can remember him saying:

“Where is my beer!?!  Why can’t someone get me a god damn beer!?!”

“Why do you have to be such a homosexual…sorry I don’t mean to offend gay people I just mean it in a derogatory why towards this homo who won’t get me a beer.  I am just trying to keep up with you Aussie’s who have had all day to drink.”

“Everyone thinks I am drunk but I have been sober for the last fifteen minutes.”

“I don’t drink or do drugs and I do not fuck underage girls because of our lord and savior jesus christ.”  (motioning in a sloppy manner the points of the cross)

“I am a convicted felon you know.”

He pathetically continued his set (which was a shame because he had a good set list) while constantly throwing his microphone like a spoiled child and sometimes during instrumental parts of a song just sitting down like he was scolded.  Every bottle of water that was given to him became a projectile after taking a small sip.  And then…

“I am a law abiding citizen of your great country and I choose to respect your laws.”  Manson proceeds to pull out a small glass vial containing a white powder substance and slowly pours it on stage.  When half of it is gone the vial gets tossed into the crowd…”I have to give back to the community which has given so much to me.”  Granted I understand it could have been a stage performance but considering his actual performance was riddled with drunken uncaring missteps, I would have to assume there was a possibility that it was real but I can not confirm it.

Manson’s biggest downfall on stage was, well, him basically falling off stage.  My speculation of this planned accident comes from observing his pitiful attempt to get off the stage.  I was watching the video monitor at the time because I was in front of the Slipknot stage waiting for them and did not want to lose my place.  The video feed was following Manson and suddenly he disappeared off the screen.  A pan down of the camera revealed him half on the stage straddling the edge like a drunk running from the cops who decides that hoping over a wall would be a good idea.  The drunk always has an issue getting over the edge of the wall and Manson mimicked this behaviour flawlessly.  He was stuck there for a few seconds and it was the antics of a drunkard.   If you imagine your drunk friend trying to climb over a wall and getting stuck there than your friend and Manson have a lot in common.  I will give him credit considering he played it off fairly well for his state of being, but the fact the cameraman lost Manson on screen gives me my doubts because this is not the first show of the tour.

The best part was halfway through his set all the Slipknot fans started chanting “Slip-knot” between Manson’s songs and “Get off the stage!”  This is the majority of what I can remember since there was so much going on at this festival.  I will admit that Manson’s quotes of what he said on stage my not be one hundred percent accurate but they are in the ninty nine percentile.  The message and meaning of the quotes I stated are accurate.
