In my opinion, October has to be one of the best months! Swamp ass is no longer a daily issue and of course, HALLOWEEN! I’m a HUGE fan of everything Halloween from decorating to costumes and most importantly, horror movie month. Every day, starting on the first of October, I’ve been watching one scary movie and posting it on my Instagram (@MsMurdr). As the days near closer to Halloween night, my movie choices get better and better. I’ve actually been letting U decide what movie I should watch lately and I have not been disappointed. The only thing that has been disappointing is the LACK of horror movies being released this month. With “Carrie” being the exception, it’s a god damn remake that’s already been done! There’s nothing really much pushing me to go and watch it in theatres, only because I feel like I saw the movie in its entirety during the movie trailer.
Check it out for yourselves, tell me I’m wrong.
I don’t think the world needs another Carrie remake or make a movie from a book that basically uses the title and nothing else. (I’m looking at you World War Z). So why don’t we talk about the movies they SHOULD remake! I’ll start the list, you comment and let me know what should be added to this list as well. (Mind you, this is in no particular order)
Let’s start with my favorite: Rosemary’s Baby
There was talk about NBC picking up this up and turning it into a made-for-tv movie or mini series but that’s all it was, was just talk. This would be a fantastic remake done today, nothing needs to be added to it, just revamped more or less. I figure Natalie Portman would make a perfect Rosemary and Jon Hamm as her husband, Guy Woodhouse. I would pay to see that.
Second: Stephen King’s IT
Hollywood has remade and redone zombies and hauntings for far too long. It’s time we bring back the creepy factor of clowns! I can’t think of any actor that could top Tim Curry’s Pennywise character, maybe except for Heath Ledger but… you know… *pours out a little liquor*... Who knows… maybe Jim Carrey or even Kevin Bacon could pull it off. What do you think? Maybe a good Rob Zombie revamp?
Next: Bela Lugosi’s Dracula
Bram Stroker is different from Bela Lugosi. Enough said. Plus when was the last time someone has redone a classic black and white film?
John Carpenter’s Christine
Okay, I have to admit, I’ve never seen Christine but from the stories I’ve heard about it I think it wouldn’t be a bad remake but they MUST keep the car a classic car. None of this technology driven bullcorn that we’re drivin around today.
What’s a movie that you want to see redone that HASN’T been yet?
