Video has emerged onto the internet of Deftones bassist, Chi Cheng, as he responds to commands to move his leg. Within the past few years since the car accident that placed him in a coma, Cheng has emerged to a semi-concious state. His ability to speak and convey thoughts are still at bay as he cannot respond.
The car accident that left him incapaciated has required him to have part of his brain removed and several other procedures to keep him alive. Currently, he is off life-support and able to recognize things going on in the room. Along with financial support from the Deftones [through benefits], Cheng's family is left with only $17,000 of the $250,000 required to complete his recovery.
