Usually I’m not one to talk about the celebrity gossip. I mean, I pay attention to it and I make sure that I know what is in the news in case I need to whip out my gossip brains; I am seriously beginning to wonder if anyone pays attention to any news that is out there today.
Without sounding too snobbish, I was always taught--especially when I was in college--that no matter what you see on the news, just make sure you have the information handy in case someone asks you a question. If you don’t know enough about the topic, then you should do a little research so you can include yourself in a thoughtful discussion.
Back Story Needed
In the case of which current events are going on these days, it seems there are only two types of people who know who the Duchess of Cambridge is:
A) Those follow celebrity gossip
So let me try to draw out a brief family tree of who she is and why she is significant:
- The Duchess of Cambridge is Kate Middleton.
- Kate Middleton is married to Prince William.
- Prince William is the son of the Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana.
- Kate and William got married in 2011 and it was kind of a big deal because of their succession in line to the British Throne.
- The Royal Couple filed charges against a papparazzi prick who shot pictures of Kate nude.
- Prince Willy knocked up Kate and they are going to be birthing a royal baby.
- Two Australian DJs recently prank called the hospital where Kate was staying after she was admitted for “acute morning sickness”.
So as you can see, it’s not like this couple hasn’t been in the news once or twice. When the latest story about the Royal Couple involved a nurse killing herself in the wake of the Australian DJs, it certainly isn’t news that was a “one off” from the rest of the news cycle. This couple has clout.

The Latest Duchess of Cambridge News
Now that I’ve caught you up, let’s further examine why Kate has come up in discussion.
It has been reported that the Royal Couple will be having their baby sometime in July with the possibility of twins in the works. When the author of the blog asked, “Are you hoping for a boy or girl?”, I responded by saying, “Boy, girl, twins...I don't care. Just as long as they look as hot as her, she could have mutants and they'd turn out sexy. :)”
From this point, there were subsequent responses citing that even though Kate was “sexy”, she was 30 years old and that is far too old to be...sexy?
So I can only surmise that if 30 is too old to be sexy, then the 35-40 age range is ancient and looks become hideous. Furthermore, I can assume that the two douchebags that posted this assertion have to be between 15-20 years old.

Since when did being “too old” become a bad thing?
Maybe I’m showing my age, but isn’t it a guy’s dream to either date or bang the hell out of an older woman who is attractive--even if mildly attractive?
In this circumstance, how is it that Kate Middleton is “too old” to be sexy, attractive, bangable, etc.? Again, maybe it’s just me but I can’t deem the following syllogism as accurate:
Kate Middleton is 30
Kate Middleton is old
Therefore, Kate Middleton is not sexy/attractive/bangable.
Look, I know that the Duchess isn’t the hottest chick out there, but I think she definitely holds her own when it comes to being attractive. I mean, she is attractive and has an education as a bonus. Sure, she’s not some turbo skank partying with Lindsay Lohan, but she doesn’t need to be. Who doesn’t like a classy broad?
So I ask...
Is 30 too old to be "sexy"?
