OK, so if you were around earlier this afternoon, you likely witnessed a gigantic dust plume roll through the Valley that was strong enough to knock our signal out for a bit. Our Twitter feed started to explode with queries of why we were off the air and when we were going to get back up! Needless to say, when weather happens and the station goes down, it's just a matter of time before we can get Engineering out to fix the problem.
With all the hubub swirling about the dust storm, I managed to capture a few shots of the storm rolling through Maricopa, AZ just north of Harrah's Casio. The dust was moving so quickly that when it approached me, it was like something out of a movie. When I got back home to put my pictures up on the internet, I my Twitter and Google+ feed were streaming so fast with pictures of the dust storm. But out of all the pictures that hit my stream, the coolest one has to come from this guy. Check out this time lapse just off Queen Creek Road and the I-10. Big time kudos to Mike Olbinski for capturing this surreal event!
