AWOLNATION has released a short film detailing the concept behind the band’s latest album, Angel Miners & the Lightning Riders.
In the video, which is streaming now on YouTube, frontman Aaron Bruno describes how the album is about two mythological warring factions: the evil Angel Miners and the heroic Lighting Riders.
“I wanted to create something bigger than me…a wider concept than just songs,” Bruno says. “So I decided to create these different characters.”
Bruno also explains how the album was influenced by being on tour with Twenty One Pilots, and by his home being damaged in the 2018 Woolsey Fire.
Angel Miners & the Lightning Riders was released this past April. It includes the singles “The Best” and “Mayday!!! Fiesta Fever,” as well as the Rivers Cuomo collaboration “Pacific Coast Highway in the Movies.”
