Breaking Benjamin frontman Benjamin Burnley has teamed up with Diamante to release a cover of the Goo Goo Dolls song “Iris.”

As Diamante explains, the cover was recorded in late February, otherwise known as “two weeks before the entire world shut down.” She also says that “Iris” is her “all-time favorite song since childhood.”

The pair puts a hard rock spin on the ’90s hit, which you may forget already includes some pretty heavy lyrics, such as “You bleed just to know you’re alive.” You can download the “Iris” cover now via digital outlets.

The “Iris” cover follows Diamante’s trio of 2020 singles, “Obvious,” “Ghost Myself” and “Serves You Right.”

Breaking Benjamin, meanwhile, released a new compilation called Aurora in January, featuring re-recorded, stripped-down versions of songs from throughout the band’s discography. It includes guest spots from Lacey Sturm, Scooter Ward of Cold, and Saint Asonia vocalist Adam Gontier, among others.
