Over the weekend, Papa Roach previewed their next album with a snippet of a new song called “Stand Up,” featured in an ESPN UFC ad. But if you’re still not properly pumped for the upcoming record, then wait until you hear what frontman Jacoby Shaddix has to say about it.
Speaking to ABC Audio, Shaddix declares that the next Papa Roach album isn’t just “fire,” it’s a “f***ing bonfire.”
“It’s a raging fire,” he says, adding that the album is full of “really heavy elements.”
“The riffs are f***ing just some of the biggest, most bombastic riffs we’ve written,” Shaddix explains. “But then there’s also this kinda hip hop side to the record, and this attitude that feels like we’ve really got something to prove.”
“It feels like this next record could be our first record again,” he shares.
As for when we’ll get to hear the record, Papa Roach is aiming for a fall/winter release — “October, November, December,” Shaddix says — with a single set to arrive by the summer.
Papa Roach’s most recent album is 2019’s Who Do You Trust?
Meanwhile, Papa Roach has been teasing an upcoming collaboration with TikTok musician Jeris Johnson.
