Pixies have released a new song called “Dregs of the Wine,” a track off the band’s upcoming album, Doggerel.
As frontman Black Francis explains, the Van Halen-referencing song is about “Living in Los Angeles in the ‘90s with my then-wife, hanging out with [guitarist] Joey [Santiago] and his ex-wife, lots of trips to Las Vegas, a lot of drinking, little bit drug taking, some genuine good times.”
You can listen to “Dregs of the Wine” now via digital outlets.
“Dregs of the Wine” follows the previously released Doggerel songs “There’s a Moon On” and “Vault of Heaven.” The album will arrive in full on September 30.
Pixies will play a batch of U.S. shows in support of Doggerel in October.
