If it weren’t for Kellin Quinn and Machine Gun Kelly, we’d never know that God was a girl and the Devil wore a t-shirt.

The Sleeping with Sirens frontman and the “Bloody Valentine” rocker teamed up for the new single “Love Race,” which has attracted legions of fans with its pop-punk sound and its Tumblr-era lyrics.

For Quinn, it’s been “cool” to see “Love Race” take off.

“It’s always awesome to work with Machine Gun Kelly,” Quinn tells ABC Audio. “He’s an awesome dude, and he’s really talented at writing cool songs. So it was cool to be a part of it.”

So far, “Love Race” has racked up over four million views on YouTube, and hit the top 20 on Billboard‘s Alternative Airplay chart. However, Quinn thinks that the song may have hit its ceiling, chart-wise.

“I don’t think it’ll be a top-40 [pop] hit, just because I have too high of a voice,” Quinn says. “It’s one of those voices where you either like it or you don’t.”

Instead, Quinn will have to settle for just performing “Love Race” on The Ellen Degeneres Show.

“It was weird to be on Ellen, that’s for sure,” he says. “But I did get a bag that had [an Ellen-branded] coffee mug and some underwear in it.”

You can also hear Quinn sing on The First Rock Band on Mars, a new, pop-punk album for kids.
